A good night’s rest is imperative after a big day. If your sheets are stiff and scratchy, it can be hard to get comfortable. Sheets that are too soft and too hot can make it seem like you’re in a sauna. Not exactly a great set up for sleep. But BrookLinen’s line of sheets has the solution.

When BrookLinen was created, their chief goal was to make top-quality linens from the best products. Their sheets are free of chemicals and responsibly manufactured, which I personally appreciate. BrookLinen has a number of products: pillows, blankets, comforters, and even fabric care and candles. But the main attraction is the sheets.
The Sheets
BrookLinen’s made it easy to buy their sheets – your standard sheet set includes a fitted sheet, a flat sheet, and two pillowcases. But they also offer “bundles” which consist of their sheet sets, plus a duvet cover and two extra pillowcases, because that’s really what you need. They also offer the Move-In Bundle, and with that, you also get two pillows and a comforter. It’s a smart idea.
What’s cool is that you can mix and match your bundle with different patterns, as well as pick your own sheet weave, comforter down, and pillow plushness. I really liked this option. Their colors are neutral, city-classy tones – smoke gray, sandy beige, white, navy blue, and sky blue, and you can get either a solid, or patterns in polka dots or a variety of pinstripe styles. This is great because too many stripes are a little dizzy when you want to wind down, but it’s nice to have some patterns. I like the idea of mixing dots and stripes, too.
How The BrookLinen Sheets Feel
There are three different sheet weaves to choose from:
• Classic – “crinkly and crisp, yet airy and light.” These sheets are 270 thread count and made of percale, which softens over time.
• Luxe – “heavier and softer, next level luxury” sheets are made with extra fine yarns for a svelte 480 thread count.
• Linen – Light sheets are stonewashed to give a soft, airy feel. These sheets are perfect for warm weather. Made of Belgian and French flax, the sheets are 480 thread count.
I got the Classic Core Sheet Set. As promised, it came with the fitted sheet, flat sheet, and two cases. The pillowcases are in an envelope style, which has an enclosure flap at the end, to keep the pillow snug in its case, as well as give a more refined look by hiding the actual pillow.
The first thing I checked was the fitted sheet. My mattress is really thick at 15”, but the sheet completely fits around the mattress without pulling up, which is usually a problem, so that was a big plus. After that, I made the bed. Everything fit well, and I liked the style I got – the window print and I matched it with solid smoke pillowcases. This was a nice look, but I have to say, the linens were a little too stiff for me.
So next I washed everything, which I hoped would soften the sheets, as promised. Just to be sure, I did three washes, and I was pleased that yes, the sheets did soften. After that, I made the bed again and was happy to find the sheets didn’t shrink. The color didn’t run either, which I was concerned about since the window print is dark gray on white. If you like crisp, neat sheets, you’ll definitely have to iron your linens. I don’t and they still look nice to me.
