Jin Ja Drink Review

Jin Ja Drink Review

Jin+ja is a ginger and cayenne based juice that energizes the body, supports digestion, and helps boost the metabolism. After reading about Jin Ja on the website, I was excited to try it! It sounded like the benefits would really help me. I get motion sick in the car and I’m not a coffee drinker, so I wanted to see if Jin+ja would help calm my stomach and keep me energized.

Jin Ja Review

I tested out of four Jin+ja products, two of the original strength juices and two of the concentrated 4oz shot sized juices, each in the Original ginger flavor and Dragon Fruit.

I’ll start with my thoughts on the drink itself.

Original

The Original flavor is made with ginger, cayenne pepper, green tea, lemon, and mint. In the original strength juice it was delicious with a little kick. I definitely tasted the ginger and cayenne the most. In concentrate it packed a punch.

I felt the ginger and cayenne hit my throat, but the sweetness balanced it out. I’m not usually a huge fan of cayenne shots, but this I could handle. For context, I love salsa, but usually have to stop at medium spice before it becomes painful.

Dragonfruit

This flavor is delicious. It’s so fruity and smooth. If you don’t love a strong ginger/cayenne kick, this is the Jin+Ja flavor for you (and me!). It’s made with most of the same ingredients, so it still has the ginger/cayenne flavor, but also has the dragon fruit, which makes it so tasty and balanced! I loved this flavor and would definitely choose it first when buying in the future.

Ingredients

Both flavors were sweeter than I expected, so I checked out the ingredients. They do have quite a lot of sugar per serving, which is a con in my book. It comes from a mixture of pure cane sugar and naturally occurring sugars, but I was disappointed to see that it was sweetened with sugar.

Physical Benefits

As I mentioned before, I tend to get motion sick in the car. Combined with the fact that I am not a breakfast person, I often feel nauseous when I’m driving to work in the mornings on an empty stomach. After reading about the stomach calming benefits of Jin+ja, I decided to try drinking some every morning for a week to see if I could feel a difference in my motion sickness. Let me tell you, after just two days, I was sold!

On the first morning, I was feeling a little iffy, and I took a one ounce swig of the original concentrated juice. My stomach calmed down immediately. I know ginger helps with nausea, but something about this juice worked more quickly than any other ginger remedy I’ve tried (ginger ale, ginger candies, ginger chews, etc.). I got the the car and drive to work and felt great. No hint of a stomach issue. By the second day I was sold. My stomach didn’t bother me at all the whole week.

As far as energy goes, I’m not a coffee drinker and tend to start my days off slowly, dragging myself out of bed and around the house to get ready. I read that Jin+Ja helps energize you without caffeine, so I was pretty excited to see if it worked for me. Along with drinking one serving in the morning, I also tried drinking it when I found myself particularly exhausted after a week long camping trip and during long days at work. Unfortunately, I didn’t feel any difference in my energy level before and after drinking the Jin+Ja. It works for some people, but not for me. I’ll be sticking with my power naps and tea!

Digestion

Lastly, I have to comment on the metabolism and digestion boost. It’s hard for me to tell a big difference, but I will say that I was much more regular in my bowel movements while I was drinking Jin+Ja daily!

Jin+Ja Review Summary

Overall Rating 9.0

I’d definitely bring it on road trips for my stomach, but wouldn’t rely on it as an energy source. I preferred the Dragon Fruit flavor to satisfy my sweet tooth with less of a kick. If you love the spice, go for the Original!
