LieferService Review
The Ordering Experience
I’ve been living in Austria for a month now and have been using Lieferservice to order food every week or so. I’m pretty accustomed to using Uber Eats and DoorDash at home, so the switch wasn’t all that difficult. Even though we’re in Austria, the app can be translated into English. However, this doesn’t apply to the actual items on various menus—so you’re going to have to figure out what you’re ordering on your own (fair enough).
Delivery is free if you meet the minimum order (usually under 15 euros). One thing that was really interesting is that you can pay in cash upon delivery, which I’ve never seen before in the US. They also give you an option to pay with Paypal, credit card, or something called “SOFORT Uberweisung”—which I still don’t know what that is.
I usually opted for cash, as it’s been the easiest way to deal with payments over here. Sometimes US credit cards cause issue with the card readers here, because they require signatures and Austrians don’t expect that. So cash it is!
The Delivery Process
Delivery is a lot like the apps I’m used to at home. You get notified when the order is on the way and head outside to receive it. If you’ve chosen cash, you pay cash when they get there. No problemo. Food acquired!
LieferService Review Summary
Rating 9.0
Overall I found LieferService really easy to use. It’s a bit odd that they allow you to order cash—what if I order and then forget about it and disappear? Who pays for the food? However, the ability to use cash is really nice.
Ordering is easy and delivery is a breeze. Food is in my belly in no time!
