Nora Mattress Review

Nora mattress review wayfair

Claiming to provide the best sleep ever, the Nora Mattress says it offers unbeatable value and a zero-risk sleep. That sounded pretty promising to me, so I decided to try out the Nora Mattress to see for myself what all the buzz was about. The mattress comes with a 100-night risk-free period, so customers have nothing to lose.

Nora Mattress Review

About The Mattress

The Nora Mattress is available at Wayfair.com and a queen sized mattress retails for about $600USD. Currently we can offer customers an extra 20% Off. Shipping was free, which is always nice, and ordering from Wayfair.com was easy. It is interesting to see larger companies getting into the mattress delivery industry. I am interested to see how this affects companies like Tuft and Needle.

Opening the Mattress

When the mattress arrived, I was excited by the bright purple-colored box. Customers might be a bit taken aback by the size of the box. The cool thing about a Nora Mattress is that it is a mattress-in-a-box, which means it was mechanically rolled up tight for shipping and I needed to unroll it.

Placing the packaging on my bed frame, I cut the mattress wrapping and watched it inflate — for lack of a better word — and become a bed! Where there was once a narrow cylinder was now a full-sized queen mattress. It’s quite a fun thing to watch.

First Impressions

The mattress looks great and started to develop its shape right away. The material covering the mattress seemed to be good quality and felt soft to the touch. I liked how the mattress looked so modern – not that anyone would see the mattress when the bed linens were placed on it, but I liked the attention to detail regarding the way the mattress looked.

The Nora Mattress Details

According to the Wayfair.com website, the mattress is made from several materials that contribute to the comfort level of the mattress itself. These include a 2” layer of gel-infused memory foam, a 3” layer of gel-infused cooling foam, 2 – 3.5” dense layers of memory foam, and the entire thing is covered in a jade-infused mattress cover.

Testing out the bed

After the mattress had some time to breathe, I decided to test drive it. I sat on the edge of the mattress and found that it was supportive enough so that I didn’t feel like I was going to fall off or slide off. I laid flat on the mattress and found it to be supportive yet very soft. I would say it gets an 5-6 out of 10 in firmness (10 being the firmest). I laid there for some time and found that it continued to feel cool on my skin, which was nice, but I wondered if it would stay that way if I put linens on the bed.

The linen test: I put a cotton-blend linen on the bed and found that it stayed cool while I laid on the mattress. I think the Jade-infused mattress cover and the gel-infused cooling foam are doing what they are supposed to. But this was only a quick test. The real truth would come after a full night’s sleep.

I found that the mattress was comfortable to lay on and that when my partner moved, I couldn’t feel it. Because there are no springs, the mattress sort of functions like it had independent sides, but that might have just been the way I experienced it.

A Week Later

Nora has found a good blend of comfort and support with this mattress. Customers will find a soft sleeping experience that doesn’t cause a sore back the next day. I never had any experience with over heating even in the warmer climate I live in.

Nora Mattress Review Summary

Rating 9.4 | Final Thoughts

Overall, I really liked this mattress. It has a very soft top yet provides all the support I needed. I didn’t wake up with any aches or pains after trying it out for a few nights. I also liked the fact that I wouldn’t be woken up when my partner moved at night, and truth be told, my old mattress was pretty rickety because it had springs.

I liked that the mattress came right to my door and I didn’t have to pretend to be Superman and hold one hand on the mattress on the top of my vehicle after I bought at the mattress store. I liked that that mattress cover had jade infused in it, I am not sure how much that contributed to the cooling effect, but in my mind, it did. One thing I thought was weird is that the mattress is meant to be on a platform style bed, according to the pictures and the videos that are on the website. I have a boxed bed and the mattress did fit on it in terms of width, but the 12” depth of the Nora Mattress meant that the mattress looked much higher on the boxed bed. It wasn’t a deal breaker, and I could see how a platform bed would look much better with a mattress like this, but I just thought I would mention it.

Would I Recommend This to Someone?

This is definitely a good mattress to sleep on. It delivers on its promise to provide you a good night’s sleep. I think others would appreciate the construction and quality of this mattress and the fact that it shows up at your door. For all over these reasons, and more, I would recommend this mattress to someone who was in the market for a new bed. One thing though: obviously, you can’t test this mattress before you buy it, so you kind of have to just hold your breath and hope for the best when it arrives, but I think you will like it a lot. Plus, if you don’t like it, you can always return it within 100 days of purchase and get your money back. I’m keeping mine, though.

For a limited time Wayfair is offering the Nora Mattress at $415
