On Demand Computer Help: These 2 companies are like Uber for Tech Support

Plus discounts on them!

If you’ve been looking for the Uber for computer help, you’re in the right place. We chat below about two great companies that offer tech support for computers, iPads, phones and more—on demand, at your house.

Company 1: Takl

Takl is a jack of all trades home help company. You may have heard of them as the “Uber for handyman services”, but they also have extremely comprehensive computer help services. And what I love most about them is their upfront pricing—there are no hidden costs or confusing quotes.

To get started, simply install the Takl app.

On the home screen, you can either select a category and find your problem that way—or you can enter it as a custom job. We recommend either choosing “Computer Service” as the job (roughly $55), or manually typing in the problem as a “Custom Job”.

You’ll next see a few different background-checked providers to choose from, as well as scheduling. Once you’ve chosen (check out their rating from past customers), simply set up your appointment. Be sure to use the promo code C2A74 for 10% off the total cost.

Once booked, the app will then alert you when your provider is en route to your house.

No need to do anything else except let them inside and show them your problem. Payment is done through the app.

Company 2: HelloTech

HelloTech is a bit different from Takl, because they actually specifically only work on tech problems. You can’t hire them for other things (whereas Takl also lets you hire providers for cleaning, gardening, plumbing, and handyman jobs). So they’re really specialized to do tech work for computers, iPads, smartphones, Tvs and other home electronics.

So if you want to have a little bit easier of a time explaining your problem, HelloTech might be a good solution for you.

One downside (compared to Takl) is that their pricing is not as visible and upfront. If you select their “Computer Help” option, it says “Starting at $79”. So it could get a bit pricier depending on what you need doing.
