The Hangover
Everyone I know has some technique they swear by to get over a hangover. A bowl of raw eggs, drinking a lot of electrolytes, or a giant IHOP meal before going to bed. I have tried them all and suffered the next morning every time. I decided to do some actual research to discover what caused a hangover.
The top of google describes a hangover as dehydration and increased urine production which leads to an imbalance in electrolytes. If you have ever been super dehydrated, the symptoms are very similar to a night of hard drinking.
Staying Hydrated
You would think that drinking water would help, but it turns out imbibing water is too slow to cure the effect of a hangover. It will help over time, but won’t do much for that piercing headache at 9 AM the next morning. It seemed like the only solution available was to limit my drinking. That is until I discovered One80.
If you live in the Los Angeles area a new service called One80 has come to save you from the angry hangover gods. For the rather expensive price of $129-$189, highly trained nurses will come to you with bags full of glorious Iv hydration.
The Experience
I have as yet not had need to try One80 but I have a big party planned in a few weeks. I think that will be the best time to try the magical cure and update my One80 review. Until that time I recommend you read this review at Gizmodo about a similar service in NY.
