Scum and Villainy Cantina Review

I went to the Cantina hoping for an immersive type event but only found a bar. I should have known when I discovered the location was Hollywood blvd, but I held out my hopes. I paid my $50 and started dieting so I could fit into my Princess Leia outfit. Little did I know, it wasn’t all that necessary.

The Bar

After paying $50 and waiting for 30 minutes in line I finally got into the bar. It had a cool vibe with smoke machines and laser lights. The music was very similar to the same music played at the Mos Eisley Cantina in Star Wars. I was pleasantly surprised that a large number of other bar goers had some amazing outfits on. Sadly that is where the positives of the night seemed to stop.

The room was pretty small and they crammed as many people into it as possible. The concept of finding a seat is laughable unless you waited for an hour to be first in line. The drinks are as expensive as you would imagine and for some reason had names from Star Trek and other genres. The drinks themselves were super sugary and not all that good.

All that asdide, the main issue I had was the lack of entertainment. The draw of the Mos Eisley Cantina was the aliens creatures. I expected at least one or two hired characters to really make it feel like a space bar. It was pretty disappointing when I realized that no characters were going to be appearing as the night dragged on.

Scum and Villainy Cantina ReviewSummary

I blame myself and the people who put this on for the disappointing night. I built it up too much and expected a more immersive type experience. On the other hand, the bar did seem like it was pushing that idea a little too much. The result was a cool bar, but a pretty lame experience.

The place was starting to empty out by 11 Pm so I think they need to change it up. I suggest fixing the drinks and hiring some alien actors. I would have paid even more to get an even more authentic experience.
