Zombie Joe’s Urban Death Review

Located right on the border of Noho, Urban death has an unassuming front. Don’t let that fool you, though, inside is a bizarre meld of macabre and scares. If audience goers make it through the maze, there is a show that is definitely unique.

The Good

The scare

Zombie Joe’s does a great job getting into the horror. They always try to push the envelope with their actors and costumes. Walking through a pitch black maze with only one flashlight is a stroke of genius.

The Actors

They go all out! We couldn’t find one actor who wasn’t into their role. It’s easier for an audience to be scared when the actors are so dedicated. It’s doubly impressive when so many of the sketches were physically intensive.

The Price

Urban Death won’t cost you an arm and a leg. Customers get a good maze and show for only $15. This is a bargain when compared to how expensive most of the other shows are.

The Bad

Some of the Subject Matter

This is a personal input, so take it with a grain of salt. We loved most of the scares, but a few seemed inappropriate. One of the shorts included a man watching kids playing. Then he reached down and pulled out a gun, ready to shoot them. This felt a bit out of the vibe for the rest of the scares. We understand that it is good shock value, but it rubbed us wrong.

The set.

The maze was hanging black plastic sheets that could often shift and move. We ended up getting turned around and confused. The problem was we had other couple following right behind us. So we ended up ruining their scares as we bunched up.

Zombie Joe’s Urban Death Review Summary

We love a good scare and Urban Death delivers. While its production value is nowhere near as high as Delusion, it delivers a good time. Get ready to see some truly bizarre scenes at Urban Death. At only $15 a ticket, its one of the best value scares you can get.
