The Verdict

A Cleaning App Built On Fair, Upfront Pricing

A lot of cleaning-lady apps have come and gone, and at the time, Takl looked like it might be the one to last. It handles a range of handyman jobs, and booking a house cleaning is particularly straightforward.

The app is easy to navigate: open it, scroll to Housekeeping, select Clean Home, and choose your home's size to see an exact price before booking. Every provider on Takl is background-checked, and you can review their ratings from past jobs before choosing one, then rate them yourself afterward.

Pricing stays constant no matter which provider you pick, so there's no haggling involved. In our reviewer's Los Angeles market, a 1-bedroom clean starts at $70, with prices rising by home size and a pricier deep-clean tier available at every size.

New customers can knock 10% off their first booking with code C2A74, which makes an already transparent pricing structure even more appealing.

Since this review was published, Takl has shut down. Our own Takl review has been updated to confirm the service is no longer operating and to recommend Handy instead -- the pricing and booking flow above are kept as historical context, not a current, bookable offer.

Pros

Why We Love It

  • Transparent, fixed pricing shown for every home size before you book
  • All providers are background-checked and rated after each job
  • Simple booking flow from the app's home screen through checkout
Cons

Considerations

  • Deep-clean option not personally tested by our reviewer
  • Pricing shown is for the Los Angeles market and may vary by area
  • Takl is no longer operating, per our own review of the service -- this booking flow and pricing are no longer available

Booking a Clean, Start to Finish

Booking starts from the app's home screen: scroll to the Housekeeping category, select 'Clean Home/Apartment,' then 'Clean Home,' and choose the size of your home to see an exact price. From there it's a straightforward path through scheduling, picking a provider, and checkout.

Every provider listed has passed a Takl background check, and their ratings from previous jobs are visible before you book, with the option to rate your own provider once the job is done.

Deep Clean, Untested

Our reviewer only booked a regular clean and hasn't personally tried Takl's deep-clean option, which costs more depending on home size.

We Recommend This To Readers Who:

  • Need a one-off house cleaning

Fixed pricing by home size means no haggling over which provider you choose.

  • Want vetted providers

Every cleaner on Takl is background-checked, and you can browse ratings from past jobs before booking.

  • Booking for the first time

New customers can save 10% with the code C2A74.

What a Clean Costs

Takl's Los Angeles pricing shows an exact price for every home size before you book, with a pricier deep-clean option available at each size. Takl has since shut down, so these prices are kept as historical reference only.

2 Bedroom $85 ($200 deep clean)
