The Verdict

Hotel-Luxury Comfort in a Box

We went into this review already convinced we'd found our perfect mattress elsewhere. The DreamCloud changed that. This cushiony, cashmere-topped hybrid delivers on its name, and it won us over fast enough that we were sleeping straight through the night within days.

At a soft-leaning medium, about a 4 or 5 out of 10, the quilted TrueTufted Cashmere Blend top gives an initial sinking sensation, but the body still rests above the mattress rather than in it, so there's no lower-back strain. For a reviewer sleeping around an old hip injury, that translated into real, pressure-free rest.

Edge support is a genuine strength: every inch of the mattress, corner included, holds weight evenly, which is rare for a memory-foam hybrid. There is some bounce and motion transfer thanks to the coil layer, so co-sleepers who need total motion isolation should look elsewhere.

Unboxing was less graceful. The mattress is heavy, the multi-layer duffel packaging is excessive, and thread snags appeared on three corners as it inflated, a real quality flag on a mattress priced around $1,500. A brief off-gassing smell faded within a couple of hours.

None of that undercut the sleep itself. Warm sleepers won't overheat and cold sleepers won't freeze; the DreamCloud held a neutral temperature through testing, making it an easy recommendation for anyone who wants a traditional, plush hotel feel in a bed-in-a-box.

Pros

Why We Love It

  • Plush, sink-in comfort without lower-back strain
  • Excellent edge support all the way to the corners
  • Feels like a traditional luxury hotel mattress, not typical memory foam
  • Temperature-neutral for warm and cold sleepers alike
  • Relieved hip pressure for a side sleeper with an existing injury
Cons

Considerations

  • Very heavy and difficult to unbox and set up alone
  • Excessive multi-layer packaging
  • Thread snags appeared on three corners during testing
  • Noticeable stitching indentations across the quilted top
  • Some bounce and motion transfer from the coil layer

Our Hands-On Review

The DreamCloud's TrueTufted Cashmere Blend top is what creates that initial sinking feeling, but the body still rests above the layer rather than inside it, so there's no compromise on lower-back support. Testing with an existing hip injury, we felt no pressure or pain lying on our side, a meaningful result.

Edge support stood out as a genuine differentiator. Sitting or sleeping near the edge doesn't cause the sag common to foam hybrids, which matters for couples and anyone who uses the whole surface of the bed. There is a bit of bounce, and a partner's movement is noticeable, so light sleepers sharing a bed with a restless partner may want a pure foam option instead.

Unboxing Wasn't As Polished As the Sleep

The mattress arrived in a heavy, multi-layer duffel that was difficult to open, with thread snags visible on three corners as it inflated, a rough first impression for a roughly $1,500 mattress, even though the sleep itself won us over.

We Recommend This To Readers Who:

  • Want a plush, hotel-style feel

The cashmere-blend quilted top delivers a soft, luxury-mattress sensation rare in a bed-in-a-box.

  • Sleep with an injury or sore muscles

The soft top relieved hip pressure for a side sleeper with an existing injury.

  • Use the whole bed, including the edges

Edge support here rivals traditional innerspring mattresses.
