I recently received the Garwood 360 Wood Watch to review. I love wearing watches, but I am relatively new to the wooden watch phenomena. Every watch I have ever owned has either been metal or plastic. I decided to put my bias aside and spent a few weeks wearing the Garwood 360 proudly. I’m glad that I did as you can discover in my Garwood Review below.
Garwood Review: The 360 Wooden Watch
Style
For me, a watch is a style accessory first and and time keeper second. I could use my cellphone if I really just wanted to know the time. So it is important that my watch looks great. In this sense, the Garwood 360 went above and beyond.
The first day I wore the 360 I had five different people compliment me on the Garwood. I don’t normally keep track of compliments, but that was definitely higher than normal. It is easy to understand why, the Garwood 360 is a beautiful watch. The american maple wood contrasts well with the dark felt band. The face of the watch has a beautiful carbon fiber pattern behind the glass that adds a nice little touch.
I was a little worried the felt band might look a bit silly, but it fit the watch perfectly. The 360 would look great with beach shorts or a tux.
Comfort
Comfort is equally as important as style. If I can’t wear the watch comfortably, then there is no point. Again the Garwood 360 surpassed all of my expectations when it came to how it felt on my wrist.
The first thing I noticed was just how amazingly light this watch is. Anyone used to metal or gold watches will notice an immediate weight difference with a wooden watch. My other real concern was the felt wrist band. The material looks scratchy and I was worried it would cause problems during the day. Those fears were put to rest and I found that the underneath of the strap is actually soft leather.
The only small issue I did notice was the stiffness of the felt band. It took a fair bit of wriggling to get the watch secured to my wrist. While it was a bit more difficult, the felt material feels a lot sturdier and I am guessing will last longer than my other watches.
Price
Garwood makes a couple of different styles which all range between $100-$160. These certainly aren’t cheap watches, but they aren’t crazy expensive either. I personally feel the Garwood 360’s $159 price tag is accurately priced for the watch you receive. It not only look great, but it feels very well crafted.
Sizing
Everyone has different wrist sizes and which can affect the feel and look of a watch. I have slightly thinner wrists and the Garwood 360 still fit well and looked great. It is a bigger watch face so if you have really tiny wrists it might be a bit much. I let my friend with bigger wrists wear it and he found no issues either.
Pros
- Gorgeous watch that will get compliments.
- Very light-weight, especially if you are used to metal watches.
- Good price for such a beautiful and well made watch
- 12 month warranty
Cons
- Felt Strap is a little stiff which made strapping the watch on more difficult.
- Hard to replace the battery yourself.
- The Garwood isn’t water proof, so don’t take it for a swim
My 360 Garwood Review Summary
Rating: 9.5
The Garwood 360 is a beautiful wooden watch guaranteed to get attention. The watch’s american maple body and felt strap are very sturdy and well made. My only cons are that it isn’t water proof and the strap is a bit stiff. Overall, I love this watch and will be wearing it until I find something better.
