Prossioni Signature Bedding Set Review 2026: Light and Cool
For $589, the queen set includes an organic cotton percale duvet cover, fitted and flat sheets, two pillowcases and two shams. Here's who it suits.
The sheets are light and thin, and they stayed cool through the night. They feel smooth out of the package and turn crisp after the first wash.
TopDown ReviewsLight, Cool Percale in Organic Cotton
Prossioni is a European bedding and towel brand. It makes its bedding from long-staple organic cotton, certified Fairtrade and GOTS, at the co-founder's factory in India. The queen Signature Bedding Set in white percale costs $589 and includes a duvet cover, fitted sheet, flat sheet, two pillowcases and two shams.
Percale is a plain one-over-one weave with a matte finish. It's the weave used for most crisp hotel sheets, and Prossioni recommends it for warm sleepers. Its other cotton weave, sateen, is smoother and a little warmer. Both cost the same, so the choice comes down to feel.
Prossioni uses single-ply cotton yarn in a 60s count or finer, but it doesn't publish a thread count. The company says counts over 400 don't breathe well and are often inflated with doubled yarn. Without a published count, you can't compare the set directly with a 400-thread-count sheet, so you're relying on the certifications and the feel.
Every piece has Prossioni's NordShield Crisp finish. It's an invisible, non-biocidal treatment designed to reduce odor and keep the sheets fresh longer between washes. Prossioni says it's plant-based and skin-tested by Dermatest, an independent lab. The company doesn't say how many washes the finish lasts.
The same seven items cost $844 separately, so the set saves you $255. That's the main reason to buy the set. If you sleep under a duvet without a top sheet, Prossioni's $449 European set leaves out the flat sheet and pillowcases.
Why We Love It
- The sheets are light and airy and stayed cool all night
- Thin and very soft, but the fabric still feels durable
- 100% long-staple organic cotton, certified GOTS, Fairtrade and OEKO-TEX
- The set costs $255 less than the same seven pieces bought separately
- The fitted sheet has deep pockets, elastic all the way around, and labels for the long and short sides
- The duvet cover has six inside corner ties, so the insert stays put
- Free UPS shipping in the US, usually three to five days
Considerations
- These sheets are thin and light, so they won't suit anyone who prefers a heavy sheet
- Returns are accepted only if the items are unused and in their original packaging, so you can't sleep on the sheets and then send them back
- Prossioni doesn't publish a thread count, which makes side-by-side comparison hard
- The warranty is one year
- Percale wrinkles more than sateen, so expect a lived-in look unless you iron
Our Hands-On Review
Prossioni sent the queen Signature Bedding Set in white percale over for review.
These sheets are light, thin and very soft. If you're used to heavy cotton that settles over you, these feel like the opposite. They don't have the weight of heavier cotton sheets, and the difference is easy to feel. They breathe noticeably better and have stayed cool through the night.
Thin doesn't mean flimsy, though. The fabric feels durable in the hand, and nothing about it seems delicate.
Give them a wash before you judge the texture. Straight out of the package they're smooth, almost like sateen. After the first wash they turned crisp and matte, the classic cool percale feel rather than a silky one. They're a good fit for warm sleepers and for summer.
Check This Before You Order
Prossioni accepts returns only for unused items in their original packaging. Measure your duvet insert and mattress depth before ordering. The queen duvet cover is 92 by 94 inches, and Prossioni lists the fitted sheet for mattresses about 18 to 20 inches deep.
We Recommend This To Readers Who:
-
Sleep hot and want cotton instead of a cooling synthetic
Percale is the cooler, more breathable of the two common cotton weaves. This one is organic and single-ply, with GOTS, Fairtrade and OEKO-TEX certifications.
-
Want all your bedding to match
The duvet cover, fitted and flat sheets, pillowcases and shams arrive together in the same white percale.
-
Care about how the cotton was grown and what its farmers were paid
GOTS covers organic growing and processing, and Fairtrade covers farmer pay. Both are third-party certifications, not claims made by the brand.
-
Have a deep mattress that ordinary fitted sheets don't cover
This fitted sheet is deep and has elastic all the way around, so it should stay on a thick mattress or one with a topper.

Prossioni Signature Bedding Set FAQ
What's the difference between Prossioni's bedding set and its European set?
The $589 queen percale bedding set includes all seven pieces. The $449 European set leaves out the flat sheet and the two pillowcases, for people who sleep under a duvet without a top sheet.
Do Prossioni percale sheets sleep hot?
No. Percale is the cooler of the two common cotton weaves, and these sheets are light and thin. They've breathed noticeably better than heavier sheets and stayed cool through the night.
What is NordShield Crisp?
It's an anti-odor finish Prossioni puts on all its textiles. Prossioni describes it as an invisible, plant-based, non-biocidal layer that cuts down on odor so the fabric stays fresh longer between washes, and says it's been skin-tested by Dermatest. Prossioni doesn't say how many washes it lasts.
What thread count is Prossioni's percale?
Prossioni doesn't publish a thread count. It uses single-ply, long-staple cotton yarn in a 60s count or finer and says thread counts above 400 don't breathe well. That leaves the certifications and the feel as the main points of comparison.
Can you return Prossioni sheets after sleeping on them?
No. Prossioni's return window is 45 days from the order date, and it only takes back items that are unused and still in their original packaging. Check your duvet insert size and mattress depth before you order.
How do you wash Prossioni percale?
Wash it separately on a gentle cycle at 40°C (104°F), and don't use bleach. Tumble dry on low using a delicate cycle. Iron at medium heat if you want it smooth, and don't dry-clean it.
Where is Prossioni bedding made?
It's designed in Europe and made at the co-founder's factory in India. The cotton is GOTS-certified organic and Fairtrade, and the fabric is OEKO-TEX certified.
Should You Buy the Prossioni Signature Bedding Set?
Buy it if you sleep warm and want a complete bedding set in organic, Fairtrade cotton. Skip it if you prefer heavy sheets or want to sleep on bedding before deciding whether to keep it, because Prossioni accepts only unused returns. If you sleep under a duvet without a top sheet, the $449 European set uses the same fabric and costs less.
