As a back sleeper, our reviewer woke up rested and free of the hip and lower-back pain that pressure points can cause, thanks to the mattress dispersing weight evenly. A side-sleeping partner, used to much softer beds, found the same firmness noticeably less comfortable.

The HeroBed felt firm at first touch, then settled within a second or two into a supportive medium-firm feel. The gel memory foam top layer provides the comfort, while two coil layers underneath supply the firm, responsive support.
Temperature was never an issue during testing: the Gel memory foam top and coils beneath pulled heat away effectively, making the bed a solid pick for warmer climates. There was also no noticeable smell straight out of the box.
